Painting The Nude
Working from a life model in the studio is one of the most inspiring and challenging painting projects any artist can tackle. Lucie demonstrates each step from what ground to use, to mixing and applying flesh tones. Using oils she will unlock the secrets of how to create a beautiful life painting, tutoring is on an individual basis so all levels welcome encouragement throughout. Working with a life model in the studio.
Paint Better Portraits Week Florentine Method
The course begins with an in depth explanation of the sight size method, a technical demonstration on mixing colours, organizing the palette, and preparing mediums, and producing a painting from life.
The week gives students the opportunity to paint every morning with one model between two students. Students use a limited palette, with its phenomenally broad range of colour effects, to focus on colour harmony and unity of light. Lucie will paint alongside her students to provide a visual guide to the method.
The technique is influenced by the methods of Rembrandt and Lucie's visit to the Florence Academy.
Instruction is on an individual basis, so students of all levels are welcome.
