Lucie Cookson Artist

Lucie has exhibited internationally and has won several awards for her Painting. Her work has been in the National Portrait Gallery, The Kremlin and more locally Pallant House. Lucie specializes in painting and video each medium feeds the other. It is her passion for technology and technique that deliver such future facing images so rooted in her time.

Career History
2014 Studied at The Florence Academy
Worked on Portrait Commissions.
Began teaching own methods full time at Tidy St.
2013 Created a series of short films using CCTV cameras East Head, West Wittering, West Sussex .
Worked on Commissioned Portraits
2012 Commissioned to create video installation as part of the jubilee celebrations using the national film archive.
Worked with Trestle Theatre Company creating projections for “Lost Faith” and Arts Council Funded Project
2011 Founded Tidy St Art Centre and School of Art, Birdham Pool, Chichester, West Sussex
2009 Commenced part time MA Chichester University
Exhibited at the Dome Worthing
2008 Selected for the BP Portrait award exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery
Short-listed for the BP travel Award 2008
2007 Became a tutor for the Hand and Foot painting society
2006 Curated open house exhibition at The Grey Area.
Continued work with Brighton open House Group and organised launch
2005 Organised the Launch of the Brighton Open House Catalogue and Artists networking evening.

2004 Became a founder Steering group member of the Brighton Open House group brought together 960 artists in first year cataloguing over 160 exhibitions.

1994 Commissioned by The little sisters of the poor, five large paintings of residents, Lambeth, London plus one large painting for their residence in Mauritius.
